The Woman in the Mirror Workshop Experience with Cherisa G Allen

When women gather to reflect on their journeys, challenges, and triumphs, powerful transformation happens. The "Woman in the Mirror" workshop, led by Cherisa G. Allen, MSW, offers exactly that—a space where women can connect deeply with themselves and each other to unlock strength and purpose. Cherisa’s work goes beyond leadership; she creates environments where healing and empowerment become real and lasting.

Cherisa G. Allen’s Vision and Impact

Cherisa G. Allen is not just a leader; she is a catalyst for change. As the founder of Women and Men Working for Change, she dedicates her life to healing communities and empowering women, especially Black and brown women, youth, and survivors of violence. Her Master’s Degree in Social Work supports her deep understanding of systemic challenges, but her true power comes from lived experience and heart work.

Cherisa’s approach is grounded in truth and transparency. She shares lessons l

earned through her own journey, inviting others to lean in and engage with honesty. Her leadership style is about service and strategy, not performance. This authenticity creates trust and opens doors for meaningful dialogue and growth.

She also leads the Annual CVI Summit, a gathering that turns awareness into action, and serves on multiple community boards, including the SafeHouse Center and the Dispute Resolution Center. Through these roles, she builds bridges and creates spaces where healing and restoration are possible.

What to Expect from the Woman in the Mirror Workshop

At the Women Lift Project Annual Tea Luncheon, Cherisa will guide participants through the "Woman in the Mirror" workshop. This experience is designed to be transformational, encouraging women to look inward and recognize their own power and resilience.

The workshop includes:

  • Self-reflection exercises that help participants identify personal strengths and areas for growth.

  • Storytelling sessions where women share their experiences, building connection and empathy.

  • Practical strategies for overcoming obstacles and reclaiming power in everyday life.

  • Collaborative discussions that foster community and support.

This workshop is not about quick fixes. It’s about doing the deep work that leads to lasting change. Cherisa believes in showing up fully, even when the work feels heavy, and she encourages participants to do the same.

Real Stories of Transformation

Women who have attended previous workshops led by Cherisa often describe the experience as eye-opening and empowering. One participant shared how the self-reflection exercises helped her see patterns she hadn’t noticed before, giving her the clarity to make different choices.

Another woman spoke about the power of storytelling in the group, saying it made her feel less alone and more connected to a community of support. These moments of shared vulnerability create bonds that extend beyond the workshop, providing ongoing encouragement.

Cherisa’s workshops also emphasize practical steps. For example, participants learn how to set boundaries, communicate assertively, and build resilience in the face of adversity. These skills are essential for women navigating complex personal and professional landscapes.

Why This Workshop Matters Now

In today’s world, women face unique challenges that can feel isolating. Systems and structures often overlook or undervalue their experiences, especially for women of color and survivors of violence. The "Woman in the Mirror" workshop offers a counterbalance—a place where women’s voices are amplified and their experiences validated.

By focusing on healing and empowerment, Cherisa’s workshop helps women build confidence and agency. This is not just about individual growth; it’s about shifting atmospheres and creating ripple effects in communities.

How to Prepare for the Workshop

To get the most out of the "Woman in the Mirror" workshop, consider these tips:
